Yokoyama Sou
Non-profit Shikoku kennel · BW, Germany
Who we are
Yokoyama Sou is a small non-profit Shikoku kennel in the southwest of Germany, driven by passion for this rare Japanese breed.
Our three Shikokus are cherished members of our family and share our home, not kennels. Whether we’re hiking, exploring new places, or simply enjoying everyday life, our dogs are always by our side. We believe this close bond is the foundation of happy, well-socialized dogs.
Our philosophy
Family Raised
Our dogs and puppies live with us inside our home and grow up as part of our daily life.
Health & Responsibility
All breeding dogs are health tested (HD, ED, PL, eyes) and results are publicly available.
Breed Preservation
We actively support international cooperation and genetic diversity projects.
Our breeding program
- Raised in our living room (no kennels)
- Socialized with daily life, sounds & environments
- Leash & potty trained
- Car transport familiar
- FCI & NIPPO pedigree
- Vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed
Health & Research
We participate in international research projects (University of California & VGL) to support genetic diversity within the breed.
In cooperation with our puppy owners, we have successfully screened all of our homebred dogs for hip and elbow dysplasia (HD/ED).
